Just a few weeks to Mission 2020 (which is still on!)

From the Whistleblower, Don Wall:

This year’s trip is still scheduled to start in three weeks (June 1st) and I need your sign-up sheets back ASAP. I just talked to Bobby Abbott in Sylvania, AL, and they are hoping we come. Let’s not let them down.

 

From the devotional chairman, Jim Combs:

And I need volunteers to do devotions!  Y’all know the routine:  after meals from 5-7 minutes.  Please email me ASAP and let me know if you’d be willing to do one (or more!).  I’m sure y’all don’t want to hear me do all the devotionals.  haha

Mission 2020 trip destination: Sylvania, AL

The East Alabama Carpenters for Christ will be returning to Mountain View Baptist Church in Sylvania, AL, for this year’s mission trip.  We’ll be framing the inside of the new Family Life Center building (using wood not steel).  We’ll also be doing as much as we can during the 2 week stay, God willing (possibly wiring, plumbing, sheetrock, depending on what else we get done, manpower, and materials).

The mission will start on Monday, June 1 and run through Friday June 12.  Please contact Don Wall or Emory Combs ASAP if you will be able to go this year.   Building for His glory!

Shiloh Baptist Church dedication Oct 12

Just heard from Emory Combs tonight, that Shiloh Baptist Church (where we helped them build a fellowship hall during the fall a couple of years back in Chambers County) is having their dedication service on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 4pm Central time. They’ve invited all the Carpenters, but they need a head-count to know how many will attend (in order to plan the food amount).  (this is the church Tim Cole attends).

Please contact Don Wall, Emory Combs, or Jim Combs ASAP on if you’ll be able to attend and how many will be in your party.
